Drain Cleaning Service in the Bellingham, Wrentham, Attleboro and Franklin, MA

Not every drain clearing task will require the traditional drain cleaning cable. Some drain cleaning task require the use of high pressure water from our hydro-scrub machines, also known as hydro-jetting. A tub or shower drain, for example, gather quite a bit of hair. It is not always a waste of time to attempt clearing a blockage from a tub or shower drain by using a drain jetting machine. However, a traditional cable serves to remove hair or other solids such as razor covers, band aids or strands of dental floss much more effectively.

Hydro-scrubbing is the preferred method for drain cleaning when it comes to removing a blockage from the drain line servicing the kitchen sink. Hydro-scrubbing or jetting uses high pressure water, sprayed at an angle to the pipe. By spraying high pressure water at an angle to the inside diameter of the pipe, the jets scour grease and soap from the inside surfaces of the pipe and flush it out to the sewer, as the solids have now been whipped into a foam which will be carried out to the sewer line.

Sewer lines are larger than drain lines. These pipes are known as trunk lines or main lines. The sewer pipe is larger due to the collective volume of grey water, conducted to the sewer line via the many smaller drain pipes. A drain pipe usually services one to three fixtures such as the bath tub, shower and bathroom sink. Each drain pipe begins with a trap at the fixture. The drain pipe conducts grey water from the fixture to either a larger drain pipe, where a few other fixtures will drain to, or to one pipe which will eventually tie into the sewer pipe. After the fixtures have all drained to a larger pipe, that larger pipe usually joins a trunk line or a riser (vertical sewer pipe), also known as a stack pipe. This is the beginning of the sewer.

You may now be understanding smaller drains must be cleaned by smaller drain cleaning equipment. A sewer cleaning cable would not be used to clear a blockage from a tub drain line. In the same way, it is entirely insufficient to use a drain cleaning cable to clear a blockage from a sewer line. An Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning technician is trained and understands the sewer and drain systems. That training and understanding is facilitated in recognizing the various materials a sewer and drain system is assembled with and how they best respond to the different methods of sewer and drain cleaning.

Video Inspection Service in the Bellingham, Attleboro, Wrentham and Franklin, MA

At times, it is uncertain as to what may be causing a blockage in a sewer pipe. Video inspection takes the guessing out of sewer cleaning.

Video Inspection does not solve the problem. However, your sewer cleaning technician will have an advantage in seeing what the source of the blockage is. The sewer cleaning technician may discover your sewer pipe has severe off-sets (where one section of pipe does not line up with the next section of pipe). It may be revealed your sewer line has a main line sewer trap or root intrusion. Video inspection may also reveal a broken sewer line. With video inspection, the sewer cleaning can be done with understanding as to how to avoid further damage to a broken pipe. The technician can now advise the home or business owner as to what can be done to prolong the use of the sewer. If the video inspection reveals root intrusion, the technician can suggest root treatment, what to purchase, where to purchase and how to administer the root treatment.

Sewer Jetting Service in the Bellingham, Attleboro, Wrentham and Franklin, MA

Sewer jetting can be done on almost any sewer pipe. There exist some sewer lines which have severe back pitched sections. The back-pitch section is as a pool. Water must fill the pool for flow to continue to the municipal sewer pipe. Often, biological material collects in these back pitched sections and hardens. This hardening now takes up space inside what is normally a 4" inside diameter pipe. When large volumes of water are flowing through the back pitched pipe, the vent line is often engulfed in the water and sewage, thus slowing the usual laminar flow to something more like an exchange of fluid, then air as you would see in a soda bottle which is over tipped. The obstruction becomes increasingly worse until nothing will flow out to the municipal sewer line. A cable may be able to create flow. However, a large accumulation of solids, hardened in the sewer line will be left, causing a recurring back up of the sewer line in shorter increments than would occur if the sewer pipe were cleaned with sewer jetting.

Sewer jetting has the ability to scour the inside diameter of the pipe, cut root intrusion and flush out sludge.
